About Us

The Bloomington Life Sciences Partnership (BLSP) is a program of the Bloomington Economic Development Corporation (BEDC).  The BEDC is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to quality job growth and is funded through memberships and grants from private industry, the City of Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana University and Ivy Tech Community College - Bloomington.

The Bloomington Life Sciences Partnership is the catalyst for life sciences business growth in the greater Bloomington area.

Marketing & Promoting – Telling the story of Bloomington’s thriving life sciences business expertise, skilled talent pool and entrepreneurial culture.

Business Development – Working closely with Indiana University to assist with the successful spin-off of life sciences companies and working with public and private partners to develop appropriate and innovative space for new business growth and workforce attraction.

Recruiting & Retaining Talent – Building a stronger pipeline of talentated workers and partnering with life sciences employers to help new professionals integrate into the broader community.

Networking – Connecting life sciences professionals in the private sector and academia to improve and build partnerships and awareness.

The BLSP is staffed by the BEDC and governed by an Advisory Council including members of private industry, higher education and local government.
